Inkubus Sukkubus are a modern day phenomena, hailed right from the start as `Britain's Premier Pagan Rock band' - a title they've rightly held on to for two decades! Formed in 1989, members Tony McKormack, Candia Ridley and Adam Henderson set out the band to be an expression of their interest in paganism, witchcraft and vampirism. After being in existence for about a year their first single, Beltaine received Radio 1 and regional airplay. The album of the same name was released 2 years later, followed in 1992 by the album Belladonna & Aconite.
Playing and touring with bands including Nosferatu, The Damned, Zodiac Mindwarp, Clawfinger, and The Mission, the band's following grew, as did their fame. They appeared on the BBC World Service, gained features in many magazines and spread out with tours and appearances around France and Germany and appeared on TV programmes, The Big Breakfast and The Girlie Show.
Throughout the late nineties Inkubus Sukkubus headlined to capacity audiences in New York and at the annual Sacrosanct festival in London. Touring widely around Europe they also performed to a capacity crowd of 1600 at Vampyria II, the Symphony of Shadows Festival at Whitby, N. Yorkshire (home of Bram Stoker's Dracula) and returned to the tour the U.S. culminating in a Hallowe'en show in New Orleans. They regularly play at the Annual Pagan Federation Conference where around 1700 pagans attended from all over the world.
In recent years Inkubus Sukkubus have toured America, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greece, France, Belgium, Italy and Portugal and have been the headline act at many top Goth and Pagan events and festivals including The Witchfest Festival in London, the Whitby Goth Festival (the biggest Gothic Festival in the World), the Gotham Festival in London, the Reading Goth Festival and a celebratory Yule festival in Chicago, USA. They supported Marilyn Manson on the mainstage at the M'era Luna Festival to an audience of over 24,000.
The title track of their album Vampyre Erotica is featured in the cult vampire movie "The Vampires of Bloody Island".
