Wibbell Productions (our production arm) and The Weird World of Wibbell (our distribution arm) currently have several fascinating projects at various stages of production.


ON RELEASE:

THE VAMPIRES OF BLOODY ISLAND
TYPE: Feature Film. Comedy / Horror
STATUS: On release on DVD in the UK, Europe, Australia, USA and Canada.
In a crumbling ancient castle clinging to the jagged rocks of an isolated Cornish island, evil vampire Countess Morticia de'Ath languishes in her coffin, concocting a sinister and monstrous plan.
However, constantly blundering in her way are two bickering London office workers and a mysteriously enigmatic, vampire-hunting window cleaner. This unlikely trio must desperately fight to stay alive and to stop the spread of Morticia's terrifyingly vicious vampire army.
Filled to it's rotting rafters with atmospherically creepy locations, comically captivating characters and witty, very quotable dialogue, The Vampires of Bloody Island is a hugely entertaining, irreverent send-up of every vampire film you've ever loved and an absolute must-have for your DVD collection.

IN PRODUCTION:

THE FORGOTTEN WORLD OF VAUDEVILLE
TYPE: Feature Documentary. Factual / Historic
STATUS: In pre-production.
Wibbell are currently putting together a nostalgic look at the bizarre and exciting world of the freak shows, jugglers, magicians and vaudevilles of the late 19th century.
100 years ago, in the days before cinema, vaudeville was a major source of entertainment.
The eager public would flock to the music halls and show rooms of the 19th Century to be entertained by acrobats, magicians, clowns and comediand, slapstick, jugglers and dancers - plus many acts that although common at the time are by todays standard just downright weird!
Contortionists, body builders, animal acts, gun and knife acts, Lassooists and many spectacles that are either lost or considered too dangerous for our modern day.
Sadly, as the cinema took over, the vaudeville shows and circuses began to dissapear.

IN DEVELOPMENT:

UN-NAMED SCIENCE FICTION PROJECT
TYPE: Feature Film. Comedy / Sci-Fi
STATUS: In development.
Building on the incredible success of the cult hit feature film The Vampires of Bloody Island, the Wibbell team are developing a science fiction comedy feature with the same infectious humour, but with more explosions and a stunningly variety of aliens and space ships.
More details will be announced in due course.

BATS IN THE BELFRY
TYPE: Television Series. Comedy
STATUS: In development.
Bats in the Belfry is a warm television comedy series about the trials and tribulations of being a witch in a modern society that grapples with the need to be seen as 'multi-faith' without any understanding of what that actually means, or any real desire to see it happen!
At it's heart, it is a story of the relationship between an unusual (and supposedly incompatible) combination of man and wife.
7 X 30 minute episodes.
We are script developing and will be looking to work in collaboration with an established television comedy producer.
