WIBBELL PRODUCTIONS LTD.

FILM AND VIDEO PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION:
SUBMISSION POLICY

Hello and thank you for your interest in submitting your project to Wibbell Productions Ltd. We look forward to seeing your work. Please take the time to read these notes before submitting to us, so that you know a little bit more about us and also of course to make sure that your project fits our current requirements.

WHO ARE WE?
Wibbell Productions Ltd are a small independent British film production and distribution company. Being a production company ourselves, we recognise the difficulty British independent film makers often face in gaining traditional cinema based distribution and we offer a practical alternative, based initially on DVD sales, aiming to build a strong catalogue of film titles with a clear brand identity and to expand into television sales and the emerging markets.
We are relatively new and still finding our feet, so please be under no illusions that we're major world players as yet! What we do have is an empathy and an understanding of the micro-budget independent scene in Britain and a willingness to provide a platform for these films to be marketed. Currently we are marketing a full length micro-budget feature film, we have a compilation of short films and a documentary in pre-production, plus several other projects at various stages of development.
Further details about us are available on our website at www.wibbell.co.uk

SUBMISSIONS
We are interested in receiving submissions of feature length or short films that are either:
1, Completed films ready for distribution.
2, Screenplays which Wibbell may develop and produce.
3, Projects in development which Wibbell may produce or co-produce.
We are NOT interested in rough outlines, unformulated ideas or projects without a script.

GENRES
We're actively looking for films, both feature length and short, that fit into the 'cult' markets of horror, science-fiction, fantasy, sex (but not porn) and violence, otherwise known as B-movies, to release under our 'Weird World of Wibbell' banner.
We are not currently interested in anything outside of these genres. So if your project is a quirky, scary or sexy film about aliens, vampires, kung-fu fighters or serial killers we'll be very interested. If however it's a gritty urban drama about a man on the dole trying to patch up his relationship with his dying grandma, then we wish you luck but please send it to someone else instead!
If you have any doubts that your project might not be what we are looking for, the sensible thing would be to E-mail us at submissions@wibbell.co.uk with details of your project. If we think your project is appropriate, we will then ask you to send it in.

OUR 'OPEN DOOR' SUBMISSION POLICY
Wibbell Productions has an 'open door' policy in regards to submissions, as we believe that in the field of 'cult' genres (sci-fi, horror etc.) there are many excellent writers and film makers who are new, amateur or unknown to the industry and therefore don't have an agent.
You don't need a writers or sales agent to contact us. We're happy to accept films and screenplays from anyone, but they MUST be accompanied by a signed copy of Wibbell's Standard Release Form. If this form is not included we cannot and will not be able to read or watch your submission and it will be returned unopened, or destroyed.
For a copy of Wibbell's Standard Release Form, please E-mail us with details of your film to submissions@wibbell.co.uk. Remember, we cannot accept any submission without the Release Form.

EXISTING AGREEMENTS
If you've already granted any exclusive rights in relation to your project, please let us know. For instance if you've contracted it for internet download, but not for television or DVD sales, or if you've promised it to another distributor for certain territories.

SIMILAR MATERIAL
You should be aware that Wibbell does receive a fair amount of submissions of scripts and films in addition to originating many ourselves. Amongst these, similarities in ideas, styles, characters and story lines do frequently occur, especially in the areas of the 'cult' genres in which we specialise. Please note that we cannot undertake to compensate you if material similar to yours, received coincidentally from another source, external or internal, is subsequently commissioned or produced by Wibbell Productions.

TIME SCALE
Please be aware that this is an industry in which things can really seem to move at a snail's pace. We aim to acknowledge receipt of your submission within two weeks of receiving it, but you must be prepared that your submission may be 'in limbo' for a while and if we do choose to take the project further it may take a long time before we're able to do so.
However, we know what it's like to be 'left waiting', so while you're waiting for our decision please feel free to continue promoting your project elsewhere. We just ask the courtesy that you let us know if you sign any exclusive rights to a third party, therefore becoming unavailable to us.

WRITTEN MATERIAL
First of all, if you've written a big scene involving Brad Pitt leading a fleet of helicopters over an exploding White House, then please send it to Hollywood, not us! We're a small Independent British production company and our resources are very limited.
However, if your story is suitable to be filmed on a very small budget in Britain, then we would be interested in seeing your script. Please send us your screenplay along with a one or two page synopsis of the story, plus any artwork or promotional materials if you have any. Please understand that we are only interested in completed scripts, and not rough outlines, unformulated ideas or projects without a script. Please include a suitable stamped addressed envelope if you'd like anything returned.
PLEASE NOTE: It's very important that you also include a signed copy of Wibbell's Standard Release Form. Without this form we cannot read your screenplay and it'll be either returned to you or destroyed.
If you have any questions, please E-mail us first to submissions@wibbell.co.uk and ask us, before sending anything in.

COMPLETED TITLES OR WORKS IN PROGRESS
You'll need to supply us with a hard copy of your film in PAL format on VHS, DVD or Mini-DV. If your screener is on a different format please ask us before sending anything.
If you have any press, reviews, artwork, trailers or publicity, please include copies of them, plus details of your website if you have one. Please include a suitable stamped addressed envelope if you'd like anything returned. PLEASE NOTE: It's very important that you also include a signed copy of Wibbell's Standard Release Form. Without this form we cannot view your screener and it'll be either returned to you or destroyed.
If you have any questions, please E-mail us first to submissions@wibbell.co.uk and ask us, before sending anything in.
